What if the world ran on happiness?

Have you heard of the Wellbeing Economy?

This wonderful movement is finally gathering momentum. It puts #people and the #planet first. 🥇YES! 👏🏼

Success shouldn’t be about GDP. It should be about #health, #sustainabilityand #fairness.

It’s about all things wonderful - access to nature, community participation, meaningful connection with ourselves, with the world in which we live.

Business and community groups play a vital role, if you own, are part of or are thinking of setting up a #business, you can be really influential in how we make great changes going forwards. Any business acts as a fantastic way to #create and #innovate, with so much potential to educate it’s people and be an advocate for #health and wellbeing, not only for people but of the #environment. Our world needs help just as much as we do!

One of our first steps is to bring people together who would like to play a role. We have one planet upon which we live (at the moment, at least!) so we need to meet #ecological needs, increase #sustainability and #nurture what is meaningful to our natural surroundings, as well as all the things we inherently feel #good about.

So far, our systems put the emphasis on finance and money. The wellbeing economy is a better alternative, which puts people and the planet at the very heart of how society works. Money isn’t bad, simply the way we use and view it. It ought to serve the economy so that the economy can serve society and the environment, resulting in better standards of living and ultimately a global rise in health and happiness.

New Zealand 🇳🇿 and Iceland 🇮🇸 have wellbeing budgets to make decisions about what’s really important and what to spend money on for their citizens. I hope we follow their good example.

We can all be a part of this - by changing the narrative, having these conversations, putting #wellbeing first, caring for others and caring for our #environment. #Happiness is paramount!
